Explanations of the Physical / Spiritual World
People are, in general, good.
There is no God in the sense of a spiritual being, omnipotent / omnipresent and "watching over" us. The closest thing to God is found in science - the mathematics / physics that govern the behavior of the physical world.
God is Entropy and the "divine" vibration in the physics of the macro and micro universe. When you are "with God", your molecules are part of this entropy. Your atoms are a part of the fabric ("stardust" if you will) of the physical world. You are away from this by simply being alive, against Entropy, your atoms organized and separate. Dying, and decomposing back into the Earth, is re-joining this and "being with God again".
Holy texts were written by *regular people* in an effort to shape people’s behavior towards our natural tendency to do good.
The “afterlife” exists in recorded history and people’s memories. This is how one achieves everlasting “life", it is not an eternal experience that exists after one’s body dies.
“Heaven” and “Hell” are emotional states experienced here in the physical world; these are not actual places where souls go after death. Heaven can be any state of peace and contentment (subjective); often the feeling of loving, being loved, and connecting coincide with this. Hell could therefore be defined as the complete absence of love or connection. (Example: next to the death penalty, what’s our worst form of punishment? Solitary confinement. Why is that?)
**Therefore, everything you do on this planet, you leave here. The meaning of life is to connect with / touch / help / nurture others. Once you die, you’ve had your chance. Have you helped enough people? Have you helped so many people that you live eternally in recorded history and people’s memories?**
Ways to Live
One should focus on the commonality between people rather than the differences. We are more alike than we are different. And if you dig far enough into our differences, you will find that they come from sources we have in common.
In just about all circumstances can positives be found.
Inequality exists in many forms. Take what privileges you have been given and use them to counteract inequalities that you encounter.
You must take time for self-reflection and development of insight.
People are different from you. Let them be.
Strive to simplify life against ever-present chaos.
War and conflict are just ways human beings express themselves. They should neither be embraced nor glorified, but they can never realistically be eliminated. Peace also cannot exist without conflict.
You may practice any “religion” you like or define yourself spiritually in any way you choose, and you may not judge / persecute others for the spirituality they choose.
You must help your fellow human, this cannot be done indirectly (donations, tithings). You must give of your time and yourself to help others who cannot pay you back. Examples: volunteering, mission, tutor / mentoring
You may not judge another’s decisions unless you have been in the exact same situation (and even then, you are a different person, bringing a different history). Therefore, no judging.
You must expose yourself to others who are not like you on a regular basis. This can be done through volunteering above, physically traveling to different countries, or actively learning about other cultures. The more you do this the more you will realize: we are all the same. You can’t hate those who are just like you.
